Havre de Grace is a great meeting place for the kids. We have all the required, usual amenities: fast food, playgrounds, parks to run, and a pleasant community.

But there's much more. Each of the six museums offer great settings for a fun, learning adventure. There are many hands-on activities and often there is a re-enactor or museum volunteer that will 'show and tell' the way it used to be, often inviting the kids to take part.
The Skipjack MARTHA LEWIS offers a huge variety of sailing cruises offering everything from Storytime to Treasure Hunters, Character Cruises to a Children's Camp.
Steppingstone Museum offers the Fun Day and Lawnmower Cruises in July. Of course, our entire Independence Day celebrations are geared for kids... and all the adults who will 'never grow up!'
There is even a Teen Boat Building School offered in June by the Maritime Museum and they offer a Camp program as well.
'Back to the Future' programs at the Lock House are a fun way to learn how the canal systems helped our nation to grow. And the War of 1812 Re-enactors are great ways for the kids to interact. Have you heard about the PIRATES that visit... or should I say... PLUNDER!?!
Most of the festivals include a number of rides, games or activities designed for the young ones in the family. There are even special festivals just for the kids! The Childrens Art Festival in September is one of them.
The Guided Nature & Historical Walk of the North Park Trail welcomes the entire family. First Fridays always has music in the streets and a number of activities for the kids that may include clowns creating balloon figures and face painting.
The All Maryland Reptile Show each month at the Community Center delights the children, even if some of the adults aren't quite so eager.
Capt. Karl Bunch of Karl's Bassin' Adventures can be chartered to either go fishing, or just enjoy the waters and take photos. He encourages giving the kids the opportunity to experience being on the water.
We welcome you to our city and encourage you to bring the kids and let them run off steam in the parks, learn about our heritage in the museums, and enjoy the activities designed just for them!
