It's exciting to learn of the GRAND OPENING of Biller's Bikes. Go to their website NOW... read the details... then call them ASAP and sign up for a bike rental & boat ride aboard the Lantern Queen. They need to know the 'count' for the rentals and boat ride.
Then join in the fun as they have a ribbon cutting, announce the ECGA trail coming thru HdG, and just share a great time enjoying this new business. It'll be a great way to enjoy Memorial Day!

Havre de Grace was placed on the East Coast Greenway trail (Maine to Florida). Biller's Bikes new Susquehanna River bike-crossing service was recognized by the ECGA as essential to the major cycling tourism development. Walt Biller, co-owner of Biller's Bikes, says, "Havre de Grace is now recognized as the upper Chesapeake Bay's primary trailhead. We're glad to be a part it and everyone's hard work and vision. The outcome will bring benefits to visitors, non-profits and businesses here in Havre de Grace and throughout the region."

We welcome two new business to our downtown area. The first is BA's Touch of Class at 331 N. Right next door, 329 N. Union, is Cathy's Collectibles. Catherine and Bob Barrow will be specializing in Native American items including beautiful dream catchers, & exquisite Native American dolls. Cathy also has many other dolls to choose from. We congratulate Charlie Hiner and Margaret Perry and their staff at BCH Real Estate Specialists on their ground breaking, Monday, April 21, to begin new construction of their Corporate Headquarters. The new building will be at 356 Congress Avenue.

This wall is the retaining wall on Green Street next to the BB&T Parking Lot. Thanks to BB&T for the use of their water during the cleaning. It's been powerwashed by AquaPressure - thanks to Deward Ray. And then Charlie Hiner of BCH finished up. I have to admit, Mr. Ray's equipment was a LOT easier than Charlie's. So we definitely appreciate Charlie's early arrival to finish up before traffic arrived!

Above is a section of before and after just to give you an idea how dirty it was. Keep returning. We'll be priming it with grey paint. Then Ezra Berger, local artist and wall muralist, will be creating one of his beautiful murals with volunteers at the ready. We'll keep you posted!
Thanks to Allen Philippe and Al Boehly for assistance with Primer - so far 7 gallons of it! (I thought I had a photo of the wall with just primer... but... darn it... I don't)
